Code of Conduct

Welcome to Camp 4R.

This Code of Conduct exists to keep everyone safe, respected, and able to learn and build great things together.

By participating in Camp 4R, you agree to follow these expectations.

1. Our Shared Values

At Camp 4R, we believe students learn best when they feel:

• Safe
• Respected
• Curious
• Responsible

You don't need to be perfect. You do need to be thoughtful, honest, and accountable.

2. Respect for People

You agree to:

• Treat instructors, staff, and fellow students with respect
• Listen when others are speaking
• Give constructive feedback, not insults
• Respect differences in skill level, background, identity, or opinion

You may not:

• Bully, harass, threaten, or exclude others
• Use hateful, discriminatory, or inappropriate language
• Disrupt learning intentionally

3. Responsible Technology & AI Use

Camp 4R is about learning how to use AI responsibly, not abusing it.

You agree to:

• Use AI tools to learn, explore, and build
• Verify outputs and think critically
• Follow instructor guidance on ethical AI use
• Label AI-assisted work honestly

You may not:

• Try to bypass safety rules, filters, or guardrails
• Use AI to cheat, impersonate others, or spread misinformation
• Enter private or sensitive personal information into AI tools
• Use camp devices for non-approved purposes

4. Academic Integrity

You agree to:

• Use AI to explain and assist, not to replace your thinking
• Ask questions when you're stuck instead of copying blindly
• Take ownership of what you build and present

Remember: Learning > shortcuts. Mistakes are allowed. Dishonesty is not.

5. Devices & Equipment

Camp 4R provides shared technology so everyone has the same tools.

You agree to:

• Take care of camp-provided devices
• Follow instructions for logging in and using tools
• Report issues or damage immediately

You may not:

• Install unauthorized software
• Access personal accounts on camp devices
• Intentionally damage or misuse equipment

6. Safety & Well-Being

You agree to:

• Follow all safety instructions from staff
• Stay within designated areas
• Ask for help when you need it

Camp 4R is a screen-aware environment. During certain times (like lunch), devices will be put away so we can connect as people.

7. Food, Space & Facilities

You agree to:

• Respect shared spaces
• Clean up after yourself
• Be mindful of allergies and food rules

8. Consequences & Accountability

If a rule is broken:

• Staff will usually start with a conversation and warning
• Repeated or serious issues may involve Guardian notification
• Serious violations may result in removal from camp without refund

Our goal is correction and learning — not punishment — but safety and respect come first.

9. Speak Up

If you:

• Feel unsafe
• See behavior that concerns you
• Make a mistake and aren't sure what to do

Talk to an instructor or staff member.

We will listen and help.

10. Acknowledgment

By participating in Camp 4R, you confirm that:

• You understand this Code of Conduct
• You agree to follow it
• You understand that these rules exist to protect everyone's ability to learn and build
